What is dry needling?
Dry needling uses a thin, solid filament needle to target tight muscle bands and trigger points. The goal is to reduce pain and sensitivity, improve circulation in the tissue, and help restore normal movement. It’s commonly used in orthopedic physical therapy to help “unstick” stubborn tightness.
What to expect during a session
Assessment + target selection
We identify the muscles contributing to your symptoms and decide if dry needling is appropriate that day.
Treatment
You may feel a quick twitch response or mild soreness. It’s normal and usually short-lived.
Movement + exercise
We follow with mobility or strengthening to lock in the improved movement and reduce recurrence.
How does it feel? (common question)
Most people describe it as a quick pinch or pressure, sometimes followed by a brief twitch in the muscle. It’s common to feel mild soreness later (like a workout). We always adjust technique to your comfort and goals.
